What if I, or the person I care for, has a medical emergency?

If the emergency requires urgent treatment you should ring 999 and tell the operator you require an ambulance and provide full details of where the patient is and what phone number you are ringing from. For non-emergency medical help or advice please telephone NHS Direct on 0845 4647 (local rate).
