Foster Carers Recruitment

If you are interested in the following areas please contact our duty workers at the Family Placement Unit:
Emergency foster carers
Could you take a child or family group at very short notice, at evenings/weekends and support them for a 3 month period until plans are made for their future?
We need carers who can respond in a crisis and offer a home to a vulnerable child or children.
Remand foster carers
Could you prevent a young person being sent to a young offenders institution by offering them a last chance to stay in their own communities?
We need foster carers who could look after young people aged 10+ remanded by the courts to a foster placement until they are sentenced.
Specialist carers for children who are disabled
Could you provide support to a number of children aged up to the age of ten, for a few nights a month, to support their families or main carers?
We need people who may live in ground floor accommodation or have skills in supporting children with physical or learning disabilities.
You would need to have:
- one person at home on a full time basis (ie non-working)
- physical space in your home for a child/children to sleep
- willingness to undertake training on an ongoing basis
- commitment to work to the regulations of the fostering service
In return we will provide you with:
- a professional support worker
- regular supervision
- 24 hour support
- training
- skills payments up to £200 per week
- allowances from £108 per week
