Can I adopt a baby?
There are very few babies available for adoption. Those who do need adopting may have problems in spite of their young age. Many babies who need adoption are born addicted to drugs or may have parents with learning difficulties - this has implications for the child's development.

Please note:
At this time we are accepting applications for adopters for children aged 0 to 3 from people who live in Huddersfield. We will also accept applications from those people who live in North Kirklees or one of our neighbouring authorities, and who wish to adopt a baby or child in the 0 to 3 age range. This list will be continually reviewed and we will close again if necessary.

We will accept applications from any ethnic minority adopters for children aged 0 to 3 from Huddersfield.
