New Day Opportunities Resource Centre

Kirklees Council Cabinet has given their approval for a new adult day opportunities resource centre to be built on the site of the former Highfields Special School in Edgerton, Huddersfield. The new centre will provide a state of the art, high quality building which is fully accessible, both internally and in the outside areas, for people with learning disabilities. The centre will offer a wide range of day opportunities and other activities for adults who need social care support. People who use our services, their families and carers have all been involved in the project and have put forward their views and comments.

Building work is due to start in August 2008 with the new centre being operational by August 2009. The first services to be delivered from the centre will be those currently provided at Lindley Special Care Unit and Swallow Court.
