Take a walk in the garden and try some of these.
Weed a window box or a raised shrub bed.
Cut the heads off the roses or cut some flowers for a vase in the house.
Take a walk around the garden or a short walk at your own pace to the post-box or corner shop.
Wash the windows taking care to use a stool or steps if necessary where you can keep your balance at all times.
Dig or hoe a patch in the garden.
Water the plants.
Sweep the path or rake the grass
Hang up the washing - reach into the basket and stretch up to peg it on the line.
Take on an allotment - not only will you be more active by looking after it you can grow your own fruit and vegetables and eat a variety of home-grown food.
Join your grandchildren for a game of football or take them to the park and have a run about.
Take a short walk to the shop or to post a letter. Visit a friend and walk to the local café for a cup of tea.
