Kirklees Council has taken the lead on climate change for many years - setting ambitious emissions reduction
targets and carbon budgets; giving everyone in the district free home insulation; developing solar villages,
and raising awareness amongst staff, the public and our partners. In June 2009 we held a 2 day conference
looking at tackling climate change in ways that have long term economic and social benefits.
The 2 days were a mixture of keynote speakers, seminars and site visits.
The conference attracted delegates from across the country and also from Europe. It was aimed at those involved
in housing, climate change, waste, fuel poverty and energy management.
