Contaminated Land Strategy

Contaminated Land - October 2008
contaminated.land@kirklees.gov.uk

Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 came into force on 1 April 2000, establishing a new statutory regime for the identification and remediation of contaminated land.

Part IIA requires each local authority to inspect its area for contaminated land and to publish a written document explaining how it is going to do this.

Kirklees Council published its Inspection Strategy in April 2001. It was reviewed in 2003 and again in 2006.

You can download a copy of the revised Contaminated Land Strategy (PDF 820kb). The document is available in PDF format and to read it you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader software. You may also obtain the document from Environmental Services, at the address given below or alternatively, the strategy can be viewed in any of Kirklees' public libraries.

Should you have any queries, or require any further information regarding contaminated land, please contact the Contaminated Land team at the above address below, or contact by email contaminated.land@kirklees.gov.uk.
