Together we'll succeed - March 2006

Kirklees council are supporting a campaign called "Together We'll Succeed", with the aim of improving exam results this year and in the years to come. There are lots of ways we hope you'll get the message.........
Listen out for regular tips and advice from local young people, about preparing for exams and tests on local radio station Home FM during the next few weeks.
Your school should already have asked your family to join a free text message service that will send you more advice and information in the form of weekly texts.
Every child taking a keystage 2 or 3 test or GCSE exam this summer will be given a healthy snack and a bottle of water beforehand.
Local supermarkets will be promoting healthy eating to develop active minds throughout May, and Kirklees Parent and local newspapers will be producing helpful articles.
We will be running a promotional poster campaign across Kirklees involving children and young people sharing advice on how to prepare for exams, as well as a poster campaign involving parents, sharing tips on how to support children in the run up to exams.
Free texting service for parents of year 6 year 9 and year 11 puplis
- Your child's school will be sending you a letter within the next week explaining exactly how you join up.
- It's completely free
- You simply have to text a short message to a number your school will provide and
- You will automatically receive advice and information relating to Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 tests or GCSE's.
- You will be told about special parents' meetings, given useful ideas about revision, health,relaxation and test and exam timetables.
- You won't be pestered endlessly
- you'll receive a maximum of three messages a week.
