We visit babies, pre-school children and their families at home.

In certain instances, we offer special skills teaching to Kirklees schools.
We work closely with agencies working with children with sensory impairment e.g. NHS trusts, social services, health visitors, Sure
Start programmes and children's centres.
Examples of how we can support you
A specialist teacher may work at home with you and your child to assess his or her hearing or vision as appropriate.
A teacher may work with staff in an early years setting to advise on how they could best meet your child's sensory needs.
A pupil's progress in school may be monitored by a teacher from this service. Advice would be given to enable the pupil to access the
curriculum.
Specialist skills e.g. play, mobility, use of hearing aids, use of alternative communication information technology may be provided.
Translation or interpretation into other languages can be provided.
