Moving into being an adult

Young learning disabled people say that they want to live an ordinary life in their communities.
Kirklees Social Services is working with partner organisations, such as health and education, to help young learning disabled people make the important transition to adulthood, once they are 18.
The aim is to help young people choose the life they want and to help them achieve their life goals. At the same time they need to be able to live safely in the community and be able to get the help and support they need to do this.
