What we do

The Children Missing Education Team provide advice and support to parents and carers, who have children of compulsory school age, who are not on a school roll.

We can help your child to access specialist services if they need to.

We can provide you with information and advice to help you choose the best options for your child's education.

We can help you to get access to other support services if you need them. We have links with health, housing services, young people's service and others.

Questions you might want to ask

My child has a school place but is not attending what do I need to do?

You need to contact your Education Social Worker or Education Welfare Officer.

Yes we can arrange for an interpreter for you.

If I am not sure if you can help me or not what should I do?

You can contact us with any questions you have - If we can't help you we will always try and find out who might be able to.

What should I do if I don't think that school is the best option for my child?

We can help you find the most appropriate education for your child.

Will you be able to come and see me at home?

Yes we can arrange a home visit that is convenient to you.
