Birth to three

Gillian Butterfield - June 2005
gillian.butterfield@kirklees.gov.uk
Birth to three matters is a framework to support children in their earliest years and is an integral strand throughout each of the 10 dimensions. Practitioners should be able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the framework and how they are implementing it into their daily routines and practices. The framework is set out under four different Aspects, A Strong Child, A Skilful Communicator, A Competent Learner, A Healthy Child and each one is colour coded, for example A Strong Child comes under the purple section. Each dimension makes reference to Birth to three matters by signposting the practitioner to the appropriate Aspect such as 'the purple section' or by making reference to the principles which underpin the framework.

For further information please contact the Early Years Training Officer, Wendy Taylor on telephone number 01484 223037.
