Grants for childcare providers

Kirklees Early Years Service - February 2012
martin.wilby@kirklees.gov.uk

The Childcare Act 2006 gave local authorities duties to manage local childcare markets to ensure sufficient childcare is available to meet the needs of working parents or those training to enable them to work.

Childcare markets are varied and complex. They include nurseries, childminders, pre-schools, playgroups, after school clubs and holiday clubs. There are a number of grants available for organisations and individuals who wish to work with Kirklees Council to ensure there is sufficient, high quality and sustainable childcare.
