The childcare sufficiency team - who we are

The childcare sufficiency team is based at The Deighton Centre (Room 5), Deighton Road, Huddersfield, HD2 1JP and currently comprises:

Martin Wilby, Business Strategy Manager (Childcare Sufficiency), lead on the statutory duty to ensure sufficient childcare. Includes childcare market management and commissioning of Free Early Education and Care for 2, 3 and 4 year old children.

Debbie Lea, Nursery Education Funding Development Manager, responsible for the management and development of 2, 3 and 4 year old free early education and care systems.

Richard Ogley and Philip Cameron, Business Consultants supporting childminders, voluntary, maintained and private groups including pre-school playgroups, day nurseries and nursery units of independent schools. Specialists in business planning and budget management.

Suzanne Moorhouse, Database Officer responsible for keeping accurate and up to date information about childcare settings. Collecting data in relation to the childcare audit to support the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment.

Nina O'Connor, Monitoring Officer (2, 3 and 4 year old children) responsible for operational systems to fund childcare providers delivering free early education and care.

Amanda Bailes, Monitoring Officer (2 year old referral and placement), responsible for referral pathway and the placement of eligible 2 year olds for free early education and care.

Abdul Mohammed and Sarah Mason, Business Support Officers (2, 3 & 4 year old funding) responsible for processing claims.

Childcare Improvement Team

The Childcare Improvement Team consists of Childcare Development Co-ordinators and their aim is to develop the quality of care and education for children in private and voluntary settings throughout Kirklees.

All Childcare Development Co-ordinators are based in children's centres. Your local children's centre reception can put you in touch with them.
