Sure Start children's centresFamily Information Service - March 2011fis@kirklees.gov.uk Sure Start children's centres are an exciting way of delivering services to families with children under five years old. Across Kirklees Sure Start children's centres are being developed in new and existing buildings. By 2010 the aim is to have a Sure Start children's centre in every neighbourhood in Kirklees, with some already up and running. The services offered in Sure Start children's centres include integrated childcare and education, family support, child and family health services, family learning and support for training and employment. Sure Start children's centres aim to be your first stop for local advice and practical support for families. Some Sure Start children's centres will provide these services under one roof, others will have information points to signpost you to where they are being delivered locally. Sure Start children's centres support the government's Every Child Matters strategy, which sets out to improve outcomes for children and young people, whatever their background or circumstances. For parents, whose children are under 5 years of age, there is a Sure Start Customer Satisfaction Survey that will allow you to give your opinion about your local Children's centre. There is also a paper based version of the questionnaire, which is available in your local Children centre.
