Building Schools for the Future (BSF)

Kirklees Schools for the Future is a programme which will transform the way we learn and teach in Kirklees. It is funded by Kirklees Council and by the national Building Schools for the Future (BSF) and Primary Schools for the Future (PSF) programmes. It will provide significant investment into our school staff, buildings and facilities over the coming years.

Kirklees Schools for the Future programme comprises of Building Schools for the Future Wave 6 (North Kirklees Secondary and Fartown secondary schools), Primary Schools for the Future and Building Schools for the Future South Kirklees Schools.

There will need to be agreed robust criteria for prioritising and assessing need for schools to be included in the programme over that period. Primary Capital Programme - Proposed overall weighting method (PDF 38kb) We have developed the Primary Capital selection criteria in line with the feedback received from schools and other key stakeholders, and have produced a draft weighting system to enable us to prioritise schools for inclusion in the primary programme in readiness for submitting our Strategy for Change to the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) by 16th June.
