The Community Language Service

Abid Hussain - January 2007
abid.hussain@kirklees.gov.uk
Kirklees has a population made up of people with many different backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, needs and abilities.

The Community Language Service aims to make information available in different formats and in different languages so that all of the Council's services are accessible to everybody.

Translation Services
We can arrange to translate information into any language. We work closely with the Graphic Design Service to make sure printed languages are of a similar style and quality to the English versions.

Interpretation Services
We can provide experienced and qualified interpreters who are fluent in languages including British Sign Language (BSL) to help with face to face discussions.

Reformating
We can produce publications in Braille, large print, on audio or video cassette.
