Considering a care home

Adult Services - June 2009
margaret.watt@kirklees.gov.uk

This information is intended for older people and their families and carers to help you make decisions if you are considering going to live in a care home. If you have enough income or capital to be able to finance your own care, this information may help you to decide which home might suit you best. If you would need to be financially supported by Adult Services, or if you would like Adult Services to be involved in your placement even though you can pay for it yourself, you will need to have an assessment of your needs first.

If you are thinking of moving into a care home, you can get help and advice from Adult Services before you make any arrangements. The addresses and telephone numbers of our offices are shown on the Adult Services information page. Once you have contacted Adult Services, we will arrange to visit you in your home to discuss your care needs and how we can best meet them.
