Everyone should be able to live their life free from fear and harm but some people
are not always able to protect themselves as they are vulnerable because of their
age, mental capacity or disability.
The Government is determined that vulnerable adults should be given the greatest
protection possible from harm.
We want to make you aware of adult abuse and provide you with the information you
need to report any abuse you think is happening.
This information has been put together by Kirklees Council Adult Services, Health
Services and the Police. These organisations are represented on the "Kirklees Safeguarding
Adults Board".
Their role is to put in place legislation and to offer guidance on how adult abuse
can be prevented and stopped.
