About CAF coordinators

CAF coordinators and responsibilities

The CAF support team has two CAF coordinators with the following responsibilities:
  • Children aged 0-5 with a particular focus to the Early Support Programme (ESP) which offers support to families who need support raising a child with a disability.
  • Children aged 5-19 with a particular focus on involving children in the assessment process and gaining their input using various tools.


What CAF coordinators do

The CAF coordinators will:
  • Support you in undertaking the role of CAF author and Lead Professional.
  • Support you in chairing your first MAST (Multi Agency Support Team) meeting.
  • Collate all CAF data and monitor the escalation process.
  • Undertake Quality Assurance on common assessments.
  • Support you in collating an action plan.


What CAF coordinators don't do

The CAF co-ordinators will not:
  • Write a common assessment for you.
  • Act as a Lead Professional.
  • Write an action plan for you.

About the CAF helpdesk

The CAF helpdesk will offer support and advice around:
  • Common Assessment Framework
  • Multi Agency Support Teams
  • The role of the Lead Professional

  • A Programme Manager - Multi Agency Working
  • A Database and Information Officer
  • Two CAF coordinators
