About day opportunities

Day opportunities are activities that can help you to stay active and independent in your community giving you a sense of well-being. We can all enjoy day opportunities and activities.

If you are interested in finding out about what's on offer in your area you can visit our local organisations directory.

Types of day opportunities

There are various kinds of day opportunities including:
  • going to social activities to maintain your quality of life
  • going to sports or leisure centres to maintain your physical health
  • getting involved in training with a view to gaining employment
  • getting involved in activities such as art and crafts and music to maintain your emotional well being
  • taking part in volunteering activities to get involved in your community.
If you access day opportunities following an assessment of your social care needs your activities will vary depending on the needs and outcomes as set out in your support plan.
