The assessment process

We have developed an assessment process which will tell us what your health and social care needs are. This will allow us to work out your personal budget, so that you can decide on the type of services you buy.



Personal budgets

In the future, everyone eligible for adult social care will have a personal budget - which means they will know how much money for social care services is available to them. This will allow people to decide what they need to make sure that they get the right support, at the right time, in the right place.

For people already receiving services the council will offer them the opportunity to take up a personal budget as part of their planned annual review.


If you are not entitled

If you are not entitled to our services or a personal budget, don't worry. We will give you information and advice on what services are available from other council services, and other organisations in Kirklees. For example we will tell you about employment, cultural and leisure activities and give you the contact details you need.
