Cherry Trees provides a service to both men and women with a learning disability over the age of 18.
We are a purpose-built, eight bedded short break unit for adults managed by Kirklees Council.
The state of the art building is fully accessible both internally and externally for people with physical,
sensory and learning disabilities.
The building provides respite for people using the services and is designed to give people a much needed
break, it is open seven days a week, including bank holidays.
Cherry Trees is Disability Discrimination Act Compliant. All bedrooms have en suite/shower facilities
with television, DVD, freeview, radio and a lockable drawer where you can keep your valuables.
Six of the bedrooms have patio doors leading to the garden. The interior is decorated in a
modern contemporary style that people using the services have helped choose which includes a
dining room, lounge, service user kitchen, games room with internet access and a sensory room
for you to relax in.
Experienced, well trained staff will support people to maintain their independence, enabling them to
take part in various activities at Cherry Trees and in the community, for example going to the pictures,
sports centers, restaurants and day trips.
You will not be able to smoke in the establishment, but you can smoke outside.
