Shared Lives Some people in our community need a bit more support to be able
to live an everyday life and make the choices they want. Often they are supported
by family carers to do this and these carers also need support.

Short term breaks Short term breaks offer carers the chance to take break from caring
for a disabled, ill, or frail elderly person.
Carers Emergency Support Service (CESS) CESS is a service set up to support carers in times of
emergency or personal crisis to provide peace of mind re-assurance.
Advocacy Carers Gateway is a council service so it cannot offer an independent
advocacy service to carers. Specialist organisations will offer advocacy.
