Name to a face by Robert Goddard

'Name to a Face' and 'Caught in the Light' by Robert Goddard

Written ten years apart these two books each with a female central character were accidentally read together, one as evening reading, the other taken on holiday. They are two of Robert Goddard's best - and there are plenty to choose from. Caught in the Light is about a mystery woman who we see in the story from time to time, Name to a Face about a woman who we never see as she is a journalist dying in an "accident" whose story is the key to the whole plot. There is always a clever twist to Goddard's tales and just as you think you are on the track of a solution he leads you in a totally different direction.

A few murders along the way but no bad language, believable but duplicitous characters, they read at a cracking pace. I enjoyed this double helping enormously.
