Commercial Planning Briefs
signpost Planning Briefs are important tools in securing high quality development on difficult sites by focusing a developer’s attention on the unique characteristics of a particular site, and promoting the development opportunities presented. They are very much a pro-active function of the Planning Service.
Commercial Planning Briefs have been prepared for a number of sites within the District which, by their very nature and complexity, require a range of development options to be considered. A vital part of this process is consultation. The views of developers, business interests and local people are sought in order to ensure that potential developments have widespread support.

The role of these documents within the wider regeneration strategy of the Council is particularly important in the context of securing acceptable and appropriate development within the urban areas of Kirklees.
