Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA)
The Development, Planning and Information Team - October 2011
DPI@kirklees.gov.uk
As part of the preparations for the Local Development Framework (LDF), Kirklees Council has undertaken a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). The purpose of the SHLAA is to provide information on sites that could potentially be used to meet the housing requirement in Kirklees.
View the SHLAA report and site details
The Council will use the information from the SHLAA to decide where to locate new housing. The site specific information will be used to support decision making on the allocation of sites for housing in Development Plan Document 2; 'DPD2'. These decisions are part of the plan making process and are not made in SHLAA.
It is possible to nominate new sites to be considered in future SHLAA reviews. Site details and a map showing the site boundary can be submitted to the LDF team by email at DPI@kirklees.gov.uk or by post to;
