What is Planning Aid?
Yorkshire Planning Aid provides free, independent and professional advice on planning issues to
individuals and community groups who cannot afford professional fees. The service is targeted at disadvantaged
communities, and at groups which represent or work with people who need support or guidance to understand and get
involved with the planning system, for example young people, people with disabilities, or people from ethnic
minority communities.
Key services include:
- Training events and workshops, such as a 'Planning Crash Course'
- Advice and assistance on contributing to local development plans
- Helping communities to develop their own local area plans and community building and open spaces projects
- Educational projects with school children and young people.
