Local Development Framework (LDF)
Call for sites
The Development, Planning and Information Team - July 2008
DPI@kirklees.gov.uk
The call for sites is a request for information aimed at ensuring the Strategic Housing Land
Availability Assessment (SHLAA) considers all possible opportunities for housing development.
The request has been sent to a range of developers, agents and landowners, across the district as well as
stakeholders who have made relevant representations in previous LDF consultations.
All information received from the call for sites will be logged and will be publicly available through the
SHLAA. The information saved in the SHLAA database will be used in accordance with the Council's registration
under the Data Protection Act 1998.
The SHLAA will assess the information from the call for sites to check if suggested sites are suitable for
housing and can come forward for development over the next 20 years. If you want sites to be considered,
please complete the details for each site using the
Kirklees site proposal form.
Please note that in submitting a site for consideration this will not in itself guarantee that the site will
receive planning permission or be allocated for housing through the Local Development Framework (LDF) plans.
Whilst the Council will consider each site it can make no commitment that the site will be taken forward through
the LDF process.
Please complete the
Kirklees site proposal form
in as much detail as possible.
The deadline for submission for Call for Sites has been extended to 11th August 2008.
Any queries should be directed to Sarah Lewis.
