Sustainable forestry management
The UK Forestry Standard has guidelines on soil, biodiversity, climate change, landscape, people and the historic environment.
CO2Sense help businesses and public sector organisations to cut their costs, make money from renewable energy, and grow. They offer advice and financial support to businesses who want to install a biomass boiler for heat or electricity generation.
The Carbon Trust offer leases, loans and other financing options from £1,000 upwards with no maximum to all types of organisations. New, more efficient equipment should lower energy bills and with payments calculated so they are offset by the anticipated energy savings and the financing option is designed to pay for itself. Woodfuel boilers are eligible for this finance.
Biomass is a proven and reliable technology, and there is plenty of local sustainably sourced timber available within Yorkshire and Humber to produce high grade woodfuel in the forms of logs, chip and pellets.
