Allocated for up to 700 residential units in the emerging Local Plan, an outline planning application for 630 residential dwellings and 70 care apartments with doctor's surgery is currently being considered by the Council.
An indicative masterplan demonstrates how this can be achieved on the site.
The site is adjacent to a main arterial route leading to nearby Huddersfield town centre and the M62. 42 acres of the total area is brownfield land and could therefore benefit from vacant building credit to facilitate future development.
The site is currently used for the storage of explosive material in association with Black Cat Fireworks.
