3. Account number
This is your account number. You should quote this number when you contact the council about your account or when you make a payment.
4. Valuation band of property
The Valuation Agency calculates the
council tax band of your property. The amount you pay depends on the band of your property.
5. Address of property (if different)
An address will only appear here if the address of the property that the bill relates to is different to your postal address.
6. Property reference
This is a reference specific to your property. You should quote this number when you contact the council about your account.
7. Charge
This shows how your annual charge for your property is calculated. It will include the
parish precept for your area if one is due. The annual charge is from 1st April to 31st March.
8. Your details
This shows how your bill is calculated. Details can include:
- balance brought forward from previous financial years.
- payments you have made towards this bill.
- discounts or disregards you have been awarded.
- council tax benefit you have been awarded.
- additional costs added to the bill, for example, any additional recovery and court costs.
9. Balance due
This shows the total current balance of your bill. If your bill has a negative figure here (eg -32.00) your account is in credit and you may be entitled
