Karen Rukin - September 2005

The farmer has ploughed up a path - can the Council do something?
Farmers have the right to plough fields and paths that cross those fields. The path must be reinstated and marked out within 14 days of the first disturbance. If there is a second disturbance of the field associated with the same crop then the path must be reinstated within 24 hours. Paths that follow field edges must not be disturbed during ploughing. If you wish to report a path that has been ploughed please complete the service request form.
