Is there a local environmental organisation that can provide information and assistance to businesses and community organisations?

The Green Business Network (GBN) is a not-for-profit business support organisation delivering free environmental advice and assistance across Kirklees and Calderdale.

GBN work with all industry sectors, as well as community organisations and voluntary groups, helping businesses to reduce environmental impacts and improve efficiency and competitiveness.

Thanks to funding from Kirklees Council, the Green Business Network are able to offer any business in Kirklees a free environmental audit to help them reduce their environmental impact and to save money. We have also produced environmental toolkits, for various business sectors (e.g. manufacturing, retail, office and hospitality) that are again free to businesses in Kirklees.

The toolkits detail many practical solutions to cut energy and water use, avoid pollution incidents, and reduce waste, as well as suggestions on green travel and green purchasing. The toolkit also details current environmental legislation, a list of local recyclers and where to go to for further help and advice.
